Expressing confidence that the guilty would be arrested soon, Gangula Bhanumati, widow of Maddelacheruvu Suri, on Tuesday said that she was satisfied with the pace of investigations into her husband’s murder case after the probe was taken over the Crime Investigation Department (CID).

Talking to media persons at CID Office here, after giving evidence in connection with the murder of her husband, Ms Banumati expressed confidence that prime accused Bhanu Kiran, who is absconding, would be arrested soon.

“I am satisfied with the pace of investigations. The CID has achieved a lot of progress in connection with the case and I am confident that it would be cracked soon,” the factionist’s widow said.

“The pace of investigations has picked up after the case was handed over to the CID,” she added.

Ms Bhanumati further revealed that she had asked the government to transfer the case to CID as police failed to crack the case.
