Praja Rajyam Party Political Committee member Kotagiri Vidyadhar Rao on Thursday questioned why YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy had collected the signature of 150 MLAs and sought the support of the PRP’s 22 MLAs when he made his bid to become the Chief Minister if he had no hunger for power.

Mr Vidyadhar Rao was reacting to YSR Congress Party leader Konathala Ramakrishna’s statement that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy has no hunger for power, which was made on Wednesday.

The PRP leader further alleged that while Mr Jaganmohan Reddy has claimed to be Dr YSR’s heir, why had he spoiled his aspirations and ideals.

In a press statement, Mr Vidyadhar Rao stated that former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, during his 30 year political career, had never insulted former prime minister Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi or their family.

However, Mr Jaganmohan Reddy defied the Congress president Sonia Gandhi orders and quit the Congress. He asked Mr Jaganmohan Reddy to explain to the people of the state what injustice Congress has done to him.

Mr Vidyadhar Rao added that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy has no moral right to lay claim of being YSR’s political heir as YSR never had entered into an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Stating that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s YSR Congress party has no ideals and principles, the PRP leader said that minorities in the state would teach a fitting lesson to the Kadapa leader for allying with the communal BJP.
