Posani jumps singing PRP ship, joins YSR Cong

In a major blow to actor K Chiranjeevi, popular film personality Posani Krishna Murali on Tuesday parted ways with the Praja Rajyam Party and joined the YSR Congress Party.

The writer, actor and director, in a hurriedly convened press conference, announced that he was resigning from the PRP and joining the YSR Congress, since he was opposed to the forthcoming merger of the PRP with the Congress.

Mr Krishna Murali said that he had made his opposition to the merger known to PRP president K Chiranjeevi.

He added that he was not inclined to join the Congress party as it had totally failed to implement the welfare schemes and programmes launched by former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

The popular film personality however added that he was yet to take a decision on campaigning in the Kadapa by-elections for the YSR Congress Party candidates.

Mr Krishna Murali had joined the PRP before the 2009 General elections and had contested on the party ticket for the Assembly. However, he had lost at the hustings.
