Attack on Owaisi indicator of govt failure: BJP

Condemning the attack on Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) Legislator from Chandrayngutta Akbaruddin Owaisi on Saturday, Bharatiya Janata Party official spokesman N Ramachandra Rao on Sunday expressed serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

Talking to media persons at BJP office in Nampally, Mr Ramachandra Rao demanded that the government immediately arrest Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi’s attackers and initiate serious action against the guilty.

“The attacks on political leaders in the state indicate that the government has totally failed in the maintenance of law and order in the state,” Mr Ramachandra Rao said. He added that the government should be held responsible for failing to prevent attacks on political leaders in the state.

The BJP spokesman also expressed concern over the growing number of crime cases, particularly attacks on women in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Kadapa and Hyderabad after the Congress government assumed charge.

“At least, now the government should open its eyes and take effective measures to maintain law and order and act tough against culprits,” Mr Ramachandra Rao stated.

“If the government failed to take effective measures, the BJP will launch campaign against state government over its failure to maintain law and order,” he stated.
