Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas on Friday demanded YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy explain his ‘secret alliance’ with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Talking to media persons at his residence in Jubilee Hills, the PCC chief stated that the BJP which has raised hue and cry over the corruption of Congress and 2G Spectrum scam in Parliament, has not raised its voice against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy which proved that the two parties had indeed entered into a secret pact.
Mr Srinivas said there was no need to give prominence to the by-elections as they were conducted along with other elections only. He also said that the party does not need to give permission to its leaders to launch campaigns for the by-elections.
Reacting on the show-cause notices issued by the Deputy speaker Nadendla Manohar to four Congress MLAs seeking explanation before initiating action under Anti-Defection Law, Mr Srinivas said the party has substantial evidence to prove that the four Legislators had indeed indulged in anti-party activities.
The party has collected video footage and news paper clippings to prove their involvement in anti-party activities, he said.
Reacting on his campaigning in the by-elections, the PCC chief said that he had not been keeping well lately and hence had not campaigned.
“If doctors give me permission, I will definitely participate in the campaign,” Mr Srinivas said.
