Responding to a petition filed by Praja Rajyam Party over the disqualification of its Legislators for indulging in anti-party activities, Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar on Friday served notices to Shobha Nagireddy and Katasani Ram Reddy asking them to why they should not be disqualified from the Assembly.
The Deputy Speaker gave Shobha Nagireddy and Katasani Ram Reddy a week to respond to the notices.
Earlier, Praja Rajyam Whip Vanga Geetha, MLAs Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Kothapalli Subbarayayudu had on Thursday called on the Deputy Speaker at his chambers and appealed him to initiate action against Shobha Nagireddy and Katasani Ram Reddy under Anti-Defection Law for indulging in anti-party activities.
The PRP members appealed to Deputy Speaker to disqualify Shobha Nagireddy and Katasani Ram Reddy couple for moving closely with YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and campaigning in the by-elections on behalf of the YSR Congress Party.
