Government Chief Whip Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Whip Kondra Murali on Thursday met Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar in his chambers and appealed him to suspend those Congress legislators who indulged in the anti- party activities.
Both Mr Vikramarka and Mr Murali appealed to the Deputy Speaker to initiate action against four Congress Legislators—Konda Surekha, Adinarayana Reddy, Srikant Reddy and A Amarnath Reddy—under the Anti-Defection Law.
The Whips also submitted press clippings and video footage as proof of the anti-party activities of the Legislators to the Deputy Speaker.
Speaking to media persons later outside the Deputy Speaker’s chambers, the two Whips disclosed that Mr Manohar had assured them that he would take action against the Members after looking into the evidence.
When the media questioned why no action was sought against former ministers Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Balineni Srinivas who had been participating openly in the conferences of YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the two Whips said that the Congress will initiate action against them at an appropriate time.
Earlier, the Whips held intense deliberations on the suspension of the four Members from the House with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. These deliberations are believed to have went on for more than six hours.
