Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi will campaign for the Congress for three days in the elections to the Tamil Nadu state Assembly, from April 7 to 9.
The polling in Tamil Nadu would be held on April 13.
Incidentally, this would be the first time that the actor-turned-politician would be campaigning for the Congress after making his decision to merge the PRP with the Congress public.
The former superstar of Telugu films would tour the areas with a large concentration of Telugu speaking people and try to woo them to vote for the Congress or its allys.
According to sources, Mr Chiranjeevi has a huge fan following among the Telugu speaking populace in that state. Traditionally, film actors have done well on the political horizon in Tamil Nadu.
However, analysts are keeping a keen eye on the PRP chief’s campaign to se if he can make any impact against the Tamil film industry’s luminaries who would also be campaigning for their respective party candidates.
Earlier, Mr Chiranjeevi had disclosed that the Congress has asked him to campaign in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry elections.
