Tirupati, Sept 22 : The Chief Minister, Mr K Rosaiah, on Tuesday said that he prayed the Goddess Padmavathi Ammavaru in Tiruchanur for self-sufficiency of nation in all fields and well-being of the state in particular.Talking to media persons after offering prayers at Tiruchanur, Mr Rosaiah said that he also prayed for timely rains and to seek divine intervention in resolving people’s woes in the face of a poor monsoon.After taking up the reins of the State, Mr Rosaiah, accompanied by his wife, is visiting the world famous shrine for the first time in his present capacity.
The couple on Monday evening presented the traditional clothes to the Lord Venkateshwara on behalf of the state government in connection with the annual nine-day-long Brahmotsavams at the Tirumala Hills that began on a colourful note.Meanwhile, the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) authorities have made all arrangements for the smooth conduct of rituals.Security has been beefed up on the temple following the visit of the Chief Minister on Tuesday.The Chief Minister will leave for Hyderabad by afternoon.
