Govt silence has emboldened TDP to talk against YSR: Ambati

Describing the Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu as the most corrupt politician in India, staunch loyalist of former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Ambati Rambabu on Monday stated that Mr Naidu has no moral right to speak against late chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Talking to media persons here, Mr Rambabu said “it is not good and certainly not part of our traditions to make charges of corruption against persons who have passed away or make ‘heinous’ statements against them.”

Criticizing the state government for remaining a mute spectator when the Opposition parties were targeting former chief minister YSR and terming him as a ‘Robber’, Mr Rambabu said the government instead of extending solidarity to Agriculture Minister YS Vivekananda Reddy who could not control his anger, failed to rebut such baseless charges properly.

He challenged the state government to order the Central Bureau of Investigation against Mr Chandrababu Naidu and his amassing of wealth and properties, ‘if it has any guts’.

Mr Rambabu asked how Mr Naidu, who had only two acres of land during his student days, has now became owner of thousands of crore rupees with a span of few years.

The suspended PCC secretary further expressed confidence that the people of the state will give a fitting lesson to Mr Naidu in the next Assembly elections, since he was ‘playing cheap and corrupt politics’.

Mr Rambabu further alleged that the TDP was resorting to mudslinging against the YSR family unable to digest the political growth of former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

He suspected the hand of some Congress leaders in the display of placards by Telugu Desam Party members to target Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, “as part of a wider conspiracy to finish off his political career.”
