Frustration forced TDP to plea HC against Jagan: Shobha

Praja Rajyam Party MLA Shobha Nagi Reddy on Tuesday attributed the Telugu Desam Party’s plea before the Andhra Pradesh High Court against former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy as an act of frustration.

This frustration, Ms Shobha Nagi Reddy stated, has been built up due to the TDP’s inability to counter Mr Jaganmohan Reddy politically. “The TDP has filed petitions in the High Court against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy and had sought a probe in this his properties and investments in Jagathi Publications out of sheer frustration,” the Prp Mla stated.

Ms Shobha Nagi Reddy told media persons at Assembly Media Point that the TDP has been making baseless allegations against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy over his properties since the time his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy was the chief minister. “Despite appointment of committees, they have failed to come up with any substantial proof to back these allegations,” she stated.

The Prp Mla added, “Unable to digest the mass following Mr Jaganmohan Reddy has, and their inability to challenge him politically, the TDP leaders have filed a petition in the Court.”

Ms Shobha Nagi Reddy continued, “The people of the state want to see his political success and they desire to see him as the future Chief Minister.”

She alleged that both the ruling Congress and Opposition TDP have hatched a conspiracy to finish off Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s political career.

The MLA wondered why the TDP has not introduced a No Trust motion against the government despite, but had been stalling the Assembly Sessions on the various pretexts. “This clearly shows that TDP and Congress have a secret understanding, aimed to finish off the former MP’s political career,” she argued.

Reacting on the PRP leadership issuing a whip to all its MLAs to vote according to the party line in the MLC elections, Ms Shobha Nagi Reddy said that she would not follow the Whip and vote according to her conscience.
