Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Monday called for an immediate and clear statement from the Centre on the separate statehood demand.

Addressing the gathering at a Yoga camp organized here, the famous guru stated that the call for a separate state has been resounding from across the ten districts of Telangana. Despite this, he said that the Centre was maintaining silence on the demand. Pointing out that the call for separate statehood has seen an increase in intensity, Baba Ramdev said that the Centre has to listen to the voice of the people and immediately take a clear decision on the issue.

He also found the delay in taking a decision on Telangana difficult to understand, especially since ‘Telangana as it was an independent state earlier.’

The Yoga Guru also stated that there should be no more violence or ill-will in the society due to the separate statehood demand.

Earlier on March 11 Baba Ramdev had opined that smaller states will ensure faster development and more convenient to administer. He had said at Visakhapatnam that “smaller states will be better for administrative convenience and development.”

He had added that division of the state for the convenience of administration was advisable.
