Charging the Congress of being responsible for the uncertain political situation in Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party MLA Seeta Dayakar Reddy on Friday demanded that the ruling party in the state and the Centre should hasten in finding a solution to the contentious Telangana statehood imbroglio.
Ms Dayakar Reddy alleged that the Telangana demand turned into a crisis for the government after the historic December 9, 2009 statement made by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram. That statement had sown differences between people who had earlier been living in peace, she stated.
Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point, the MLA alleged that the Congress was solely responsible for the uncertain political situation and was now resorting to delaying tactics instead of trying to find a solution.
The delaying tactics included target the Telugu Desam Party in general and its president N Chandrababu Naidu in particular, she hinted.
Ms Dayakar Reddy condemned attempts to target Mr Naidu on the Telangana statehood issue. She said that the leaders from other parties have no moral right to talk against Mr Naidu as the TDP had already made its stand clear on Telangana in its manifesto.
