Responding to Eluru Mp Kavuri Sambhasiva Rao’s statement that the Telangana leaders should quit from their posts if they are sincere in their commitment to the separate statehood demand, Backward Class Welfare Minister Basavaraj Saraiah stated that the Telangana leaders do not need the advice from their Seemandhra counterparts.

Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point Mr Saraiah said that the Eluru Mp should withdraw his comments and issue an apology to the people of the region as his statement was baseless.

The only reason that the Congress leaders from Telangana were silent was in deference to the assurance given by AICC president Sonia Gandhi that she would stand by the statement made by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 9, 2009, the Minister said.

Meanwhile, Minister for Infrastructure, Investments, Ports, Airports and Natural Gas Komatireddy Venkata Reddy alleged that the Seemandhra MP was provoking the people of Telangana by issuing such statements.

Mr Venkata Reddy said that Telangana people are ready to sacrifice anything for the cause of Telangana and asked Mr Sambhasiva Rao not to test their patience.

The Minister went a step further and stated the Congress High Command had given Ministerial posts to the Seemandhra MPs Kavuri and Rayapati Sambhasiva Rao despite their winning five times just because they were power hungry.

The two Ministers also expressed their solidarity to Endowment Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao, who submitted his resignation from the Cabinet for the cause of Telangana state formation.

They said Telangana Ministers and MLAs would take a decision about their own resignations after meeting the Central leadership and expressing their desire for the introduction of a Bill in Parliament for formation of Telangana state.
