Telangana Telugu Desam Party Forum convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Wednesday stated that his party MLAs from the region would boycott the Budget Session of the Assembly.

Speaking to media persons, Mr Janardhan Reddy, along with his party colleague M Narasimhulu said that the decision to boycott the Session was taken to express solidarity with the employees who have been participating in the noncooperation movement to press the Centre to introduce a Bill on separate Telangana statehood in Parliament.

The TDP leaders expressed confidence that all TDP MLAs from Telangana would boycott the Sessions.

Earlier in the day, the TRS had announced that its MLAs too would boycott the Budget Session of the state Assembly, while the Congress MLAs too had expressed similar views.

Mr Janardhan Reddy stated that the TTDPF would inform party president N Chandrababu Naidu about the decision.

He also criticised the statement by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram that a solution to Telangana statehood demand cannot be found overnight. Mr Janardhan Reddy pointed out that the separate state demand has been made since the past five decades and the Centre cannot keep on delaying a decision.
