The Telugu Desam Party on Wednesday charge the Congress of vitiating the peaceful atmosphere in the state by the frequent and contradictory statements issued by party president Sonia Gandhi and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.

Talking to media persons at party office, TDP politburo member and former minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu alleged Ms Gandhi and Mr Chidambaram were making statements which were in contradiction to their earlier ones on Telangana statehood formation. These statements were solely responsible for the uncertain political situation in the state and are creating law and order problems and affecting the development of the state, he added.

Mr Ramakrishnudu asked the Centre to make its stand clear on Telangana state formation instead of resorting to delaying tactics and making diverse statements every few days.

The senior TDP leader also criticised former minister JC Diwakar Reddy trying to gain the support of his party president N Chandrababu Naidu in his efforts of keeping the state integrated. Mr Ramakrishnudu said that Mr Naidu has already made his stand clear that Telangana and Seemandhra regions are like the two eyes of the TDP.

“Mr Diwakar Reddy’s efforts will send a wrong message to the people of the state,” the senior TDP leader opined.

Lashing out against the state government, Mr Ramakrishnudu stated that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has failed ‘totally’ in organizing Budget Session of the Assembly. He alleged that the Congress Members have hatched a conspiracy and now allow any business to be transacted in the House. They have also conspired to keep the TDP Members from raising any important issue in the House, Mr Ramakrishnudu charged.

He assured that the TDP will play its role as a responsible Opposition party and would raise all people’s issues in the House and make sincere efforts to address the problems.
