Telangana Rashtra Samithi Floor Leader in the Assembly Etela Rajender on Wednesday said that the plans to lay siege to Hyderabad with about one crore pro-Telangana activists on March 10 will go ahead.
Briefing media persons at Telangana Bhavan after a emergency party executive meeting, Mr Rajender said that the party has decided to go ahead with the ‘March of Millions’ and added that police permission would not be sought for this.
Earlier, leaders and educationists had urged the pro-Telangana parties to review the decision and lay siege to Hyderabad on account of the Intermediate public examinations.
He said that the meeting, presided over by party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, also decided that TRS MLAs would boycott the ongoing Budget Session of the Assembly till the time the Centre decides to introduce a separate Telangana Bill in Parliament.
Mr Rajender said the decision to boycott the Assembly was unanimous as the government has failed to address the problem.
It was also decided at the meeting that the TRS would call on all MLAs in the region to go to their respective constituencies and mobilize people to take part in the ‘March of Millions’. The MLAs would be also requested to make arrangements to bring the people to Hyderabad to take part in the massive march.
The meeting also discussed Union Home Minister P Chidambaram’s statement that Telangana statehood demand was a sensitive issue and could not be solved in overnight.
According to sources, some party MLAs alleged that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has colluded with former Congress Minister JC Diwakar Reddy to block the formation of Telangana state formation. These allegations were taken into consideration and the MLAs are believed to have prevailed on KCR to take immediate and effective steps to deal with the Seemandhra leaders moves to keep Andhra Pradesh united.
The meeting was attended by party president K Chadrasekhara Rao, MP Vijayashanthi, Nayani Narsimha Reddy and all MLAs.
