Telangana Rashtra Samithi Mla from Sircilla K Taraka Rama Rao on Saturday accused Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu of lacking clarity of vision and having no control over the statements made by his party members.

Speaking to media persons at the Assembly Media Point, the Sircilla MLA said that the TDP was a confused house, with statements in total contradiction emerging from there. Pointing out that two days ago the TDP had alleged that the TRS was colluding with former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy to harm its interests, KTR said that on Friday, the party had accused TRS of colluding with Congress.

Saying that the differences in the TDP had come to the fore with such disparate statements, the MLA said that Mr Naidu must first set his own house in order before levelling allegations. KTR said that the TDP had gone before the electorate in 2004 on the plank of united Andhra Pradesh. This stand was accepted by the party leaders from Telangana who did not raise their objections.

When the party received a drubbing at the hustings, the TDP reversed its stand and included a separate Telangana in its 2009 election manifesto. This time around, the Seemandhra leaders in the party maintained silence, KTR reminded.

He expressed confidence that the Seemandhra leaders in the TDP will maintain silence if the party supports the calls for separate Telangana. If however the Seemandhra leaders in the TDP do not heed the party line, the Disciplinary Committee can act against them. The threat of the Disciplinary Committee’s action had kept the party leaders from Telangana quiet in 2004, KTR pointed out, adding that the same threat can keep the party leaders from Seemandhra quiet now.
