Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday said that he will file a complaint against Governor ESL Narasimhan against his ‘anti-Telangana’ activities and seek his recall.

Speaking to media persons on Sunday, Mr Prabhakar accused the Governor of ‘interference’ in the Telangana statehood agitation and adopting a pro-integrated Andhra Pradesh attitude.

Mr Narasimhan had totally neglected to even mention the aspiration of the Telangana people in his address to the Joint Sitting of the state Legislature on the inaugural day of the Budget Session, Mr Prabhakar pointed out.

This had roused the people ire and was proof that the Governor was anti-Telangana, the MP said.

The MP also did not find fault with the behaviour of the TRS and TDP MLAs who had tried to stop Mr Narasimhan from going ahead with his address. He said that the Members have every right to stop the speech which was against the Telangana people. Mr Prabhakar pointed out that Congress MLAs had stopped former Governor C Rangarajan from going ahead with his address under the TDP stint.

The MP also criticised the description of the incident in the state Assembly as a ‘Black Day,’ by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. He said that Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy should always remember that he did not represent a particular region, but was Chief Minister of the entire state and his comments should have reflected this.

He also requested MPs from the Telugu Desam Party and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi to join their Congress counterparts from the region and make a unified bid in Parliament during the Budget Session which is due to begin from Monday.

Mr Prabhakar said that if he has the support of his fellow-MPs from the two parties, he would work to ensure that the Centre makes a ‘strong’ statement regarding the separate statehood demand.

The MP also said that any attempt to quell the noncooperation agitation which has been rocking the region since the past four days would not be taken lightly by the Telangana people. He said that the people themselves will teach a fitting lesson to anyone who tried to obstruct the agitation.
