JP's attacker in Police custody

A First Information Report was registered in the Saifabad Police Station on Friday against Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA Etala Rajender’s driver Mallesh for allegedly attacking Lok Satta Party president Jayaprakash Narayan on the Assembly premises on Thursday.

The registration followed a complaint filed by the Legislature Secretary S Raja Sadaram in the Saifabad Police Station. Mallesh was arrested and produced before Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar on Friday in the Assembly by the police.

The accused Mallesh was sent for police custody which will last till the end of the current Assembly Session. Mallesh is believed to be the one who had hit Dr Narayan while the Lok Satta Party president was talking to media persons on the premises on Thursday, leading to widespread criticism across the state.
