Government Chief Whip Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday sought the cooperation of all party leaders for the smooth functioning of the Budget Session of Assembly beginning from February 17.
Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party Office premises, the Government Whip asked the Members to raise all important issues concerning the people based on their priority and thus help the Speaker maintain discipline in the House.
Reacting on the mounting criticism against the government on its failure to clear the arrears of fee reimbursement to private college managements, Mr Vikramarka said the government would take all steps to clear the dues.
He called upon the students not to believe rumours which have appeared in a section of media and advised them not to resort to extreme steps on the issue.
Condemning the reports that the government would mortgage properties of SC/ST Corporations to clear the fee reimbursement dues, he said the reports are baseless and the government would not resort to mortgage properties of public corporations. “The corporations are safe,” the Government Whip stated.
Mr Vikramarka said that some sections of leaders are resorting to cheap gimmicks to get political mileage on the issue.
Reacting on the threat of a No Confidence motion issued by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government, the Government Whip said the ruling party was ready to prove its majority.
“Any No Trust motion would be defeated by an overwhelming majority,” Mr Vikramarka stated.
