Telugu Desam Party Mla Revanth Reddy on Monday called upon elected representatives from Telangana to boycott the Budget Session of Assembly to press for the demand of introduction of a separate statehood Bill in Parliament.

Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, the TDP MLA said that the MLAs from all parties should mount pressure on the state government by boycotting the Assembly Session until the Centre introduces a Bill on separate Telangana state in the Budget Session of Parliament.

Mr Revanth Reddy further said that Cabinet Ministers should also boycott the Assembly session in order to mount pressure on the Centre.

Alleging that the Centre was adopting ‘delaying tactics’, Mr Revanth Reddy stated that the Union Government was testing the patience of Telangana leaders and the people of the region over finding a solution to the contentious issue. He said that this attitude was condemnable.

He appealed to the Centre to respect the sentiments and aspirations of Telangana people and announce a decision on the formation of a separate state as early as possible.
