Telangana Political Joint Action Committee convenor Prof Kodandaram on Sunday condemned the attack on pro-Telangana activists by Sangareddy MLA Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy at Sangareddy on Saturday.
Speaking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan, Prof Kodandaram termed the attack the Telangana activists as `undemocratic’ and `unethical.’
The TPJAC convenor demanded that the Government take action against Mr Jayaprakash Reddy for attacking the protestors who were organizing their programme in a peaceful manner.
The people would be forced to retaliate, if such incidents were repeated, the Telangana protagonist pointed out.
According to reports, Telangana supporters had obstructed Minister for Labour D Nagender and Minister for Women and Child Welfare and Indira Kranthi Patham V Sunitha Lakshma Reddy at Sangareddy on Saturday to attend a review meeting on ‘Racha Banda’.
Mr Jayaprakash Reddy is alleged to have attacked the Telangana supporters following the obstruction.
Prof Kodandaram stated that they would lodge a complaint with the State Human Rights Commission on Tuesday in this regard.
meanwhile, Mr Jayaprakash Reddy said that he would obstruct the tour of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao and Prof Kodandaram in Sangareddy on Monday.
