All India Congress Committee secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Wednesday stated that the Congress leaders, who contested in the Assembly and Parliament elections on the B Form issued by the Congress party, had no moral right to attend former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s Jal Deeksha in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Talking to media persons, the senior Congress leader said the leaders, who have used Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s image and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh’s administration skills to garner votes for themselves in the last general elections, have no right to align with Mr Jaganmohan Reddy.
Mr Sudhakar Reddy thundered that if these Legislators had any guts and courage, they should put in their papers and face the people on their own.
He said that the people of the state would teach a fitting lesson to Mr Jaganmohan Reddy in the ensuing elections.
Stating that the former MP had hatched a conspiracy to destabilise the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government, Mr Sudhakar Reddy alleged that the former MP was eyeing the Chief Minister’s post. He added that mr Jaganmohan Reddy was maneuvering the Legislators to fulfill his own political ambitions.
The MLC urged the Centre to set up a special probe team to investigate Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s wealth, which he alleged were ill-gotten through the illegal mining of ore from Anantapur district.
