Report ready, will be submitted on Dec 31: Duggal

Justice B N Srikrishna Commission Member-Secretary Vinod K Duggal on Monday stated that the Panel’s Report was ready and would be submitted to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 31 as per the schedule.

Mr Duggal’s statement came at a time when media circles, especially the television news channels were abuzz with rumours that the Report may be submitted on Tuesday.

Talking to media persons, he said the Commission members would meet Mr Chidambaram on Tuesday afternoon and inform him over the submission of report. He also sought to allay any speculations by saying that the meeting would be only a courtesy call and not much importance should be attached to it.

When pointed out about the rumours doing rounds in Andhra Pradesh about the timing of the submission of the report, Mr Duggal said that the Panel will stand by the deadline of December 31 set by the Union Government. He also ruled out the possibility of any delay in the submission.
