Agriculture Minister Ys Vivekananda Reddy on Thursday called on Congress party workers to put aside their differences and work hard to ensure that the party candidates win the by-elections to be held for Pulivendula Assembly and the Kadapa Parliamentary constituencies.
Talking to media persons after convening a party workers meeting at Pulivendula, the Agriculture Minister and brother of former chief minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy exhort the party workers to take the elections as a challenge and a matter of prestige. He also told them that they should work in a coordinated manner with their eyes on the goal. He said that the goal was ensuring that the Congress candidates win both the seats.
Mr Vivekananda Reddy also reiterated his earlier commitment of remaining in the Congress party till his last breath. He also reiterated his vow to work as a loyalt Congress worker and to protect the interests of the party.
The Minister also vowed afresh to make efforts for the development of the district and implement all projects and schemes launched by his brother and former chief minister, in letter and spirit.
When asked to react to the `Lakshya Deekshaya’, the 48-hour mass hunger strike led by his nephew and former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Mr Vivekananda Reddy said that the mass hunger strike was redundant since the Chief Minister has already announced a good relief package for farmers within his limits.
The Agriculture Minister also assured the media persons that henceforth he would not comment or interfere in the YSR family affairs since the differences between him and Mr Jaganmohan Reddy were widening if he made any statement.
