The Chief Minister, K Rosaiah, on Saturday promised to the people of the state that he would like to work for more hours to complete the unfinished agenda of late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. At a meeting held at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister told the reporters that he would like to work from 6 am to 8 pm on the lines of then chief minister YSR.
He rubbished the media reports that the government would replace the Director General of Police S S P Yadav over his handling of the YSR security. The chief minister said the government would take appropriate decision on DGP at appropriate time.
According to the sources, Chief Secretary P Ramakanth Reddy is likely to get an extension. He is due to retire on September 30 but will continue for another three months.
Until the high command takes a decision on successor issue of late chief minister, he would not shift to ‘C’ block in the secretariat. He said that the government had asked the Centre to extend assistance to give loans to farmers at two per cent rate of interest.The government has announced 10 mandals in Srikakulam as drought-hit as there is no model code of conduct effective in the district since the elections for Tekkali Assembly constituency completed on Tuesday. With this the total number of drought-hit mandals in the state increased to 981 in 21 districts.
