The former MP also said that the by-elections would be the semi-finals on his way to capture power in the state. The 2014 General elections would be the finals, he said and expressed confidence that his yet to be named party would capture power in the state.

Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s statement fourteen months after his father died in a helicopter crash while on his way to launch another of the many welfare programmes.

Immediately after YSR’s death, Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s name cropped up to succeed him as the Chief Minister but the Congress High Command opted to continue with the more experience K Rosaiah. This sparked off a stand-off with the High Command. The stand-off continued till the day Mr Jaganmohan Reddy resigned from the party, along with his mother.

Mr Jaganmohan Reddy told his followers on Tuesday that his party would bring back the golden rule of his late father to the extent that YSR’s name would be in public memory for the next century. He also expressed confidence that the new party would rule the state for the next three decade, dedicating this period for public welfare.

The young leader also said that even though the Congress was against his Odarpu Yatra, he had defied the party to go ahead and console families of those people who had died in the aftermath of YSR’s death. He said that he had not committed any mistake in going ahead with the consolation tour.

The former MP pointed out that he did not topple the Rosaiah government even when he had the backing of 150 MLAs, and added that he would not topple the Kiran Kumar Reddy government either.

Mr Jaganmohan Reddy accused Congress president Sonia Gandhi of trying to drive a wedge between his family by using his uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy as pawn.
