Agriculture Minister Ys Vivekananda Reddy on Friday stated that he would give priority to implementing the schemes and programmes launched by former chief minister and his brother YS Rajasekhara Reddy in letter and spirit.
Talking to media persons after visiting the district for the first time after assuming charge as Minister, YSV said that he aspired a Minister’s post only to complete the pet schemes launched by YSR and to bring more funds for Kadapa district to take up various development projects.
YSV said that he would release the crop insurance amount Rs 115 crore sanctioned for Kadapa district for a period 2009-10 within a week.
Later the Minister participated in a programme organized at Market Yard in Proddatur to mark the World Handicapped Day.
The Agriculture recalled the former chief minister YSR efforts for increasing the pension of physically challenged.
He said the government would extend all YSR’s schemes launched for the benefit of challenged people. YSV also inaugurated a paddy cutting machine at Acro enterprises showroom in the market.
He also expressed solidarity with lawyers who are agitating for establishing a High Court bench in Rayalaseema.
