Speaker Meira Kumar on Friday announced in the Lok Sabha that the resignation of defiant Congress MP from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, YS Jaganmohan Reddy has been accepted.

The Speaker announced that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s resignation has been accepted with effect from November 29.

“I have to inform the House that I have received a letter dated November 29 from Jaganmohan Reddy, an elected Member from Kadapa Parliamentary constituency of Andhra Pradesh resigning from the membership of the Lok Sabha. I have accepted his resignation with effect from November 29,” she said.

Mr Jaganmohan Reddy had resigned from the Lok Sabha and also from the primary membership of the Congress party and had conveyed his intention to resign through a five-page letter addressed to Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Mr Jaganmohan Reddy had posed many questions to the Congress chief in his letter and also accused the Congress of trying to drive a wedge in his family.
