Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday condemned the arrest of Government employees and stated that the government has no right to obstruct legitimate and peaceful protests against it.
In a letter to Chief Minister K Rosaiah, Mr Naidu demanded that the government allows the ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ rally, taken out by the Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers, Workers and Pensioners be allowed to go on peacefully. He also stated that his party has lent its unconditional support to the rally.
The former chief minister also pointed out that the government has no right to suppress any legitimate agitation. He added the ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ agitation was held peacefully, hence any move to stop it was against the law.
Mr Naidu stated that the government, by arresting the protesting employees, had shown that it is against them. The TDP chief added that the Congress government, in the past six years, has failed to recruit all the required staff, due to which employees are being overburdened and are facing severe work pressure.
He further added that the present crisis has arisen only because the government has failed to proper attention to the problems of its employees.
The TDP chief demanded government to release all the arrested employees and also apologise for tis high-handedness, without any conditions.
The former chief minister also said that should also take the initiative and come forward to find a solution to the problems of the employees.
