Based on the temporary surveys in the cyclone ravaged areas in the coastal districts due to the JAL, the state government, in order to speedup the reconstruction process, has made an assessment and arrived at an estimated loss of Rs 1000 crore.
The Central team's assessment of the extent of loss was also awaited, Minister for Municipal Administration Anam Ramnarayan Reddy told media persons at the secretariat on Friday.
Mr Ramnarayan Reddy stated that Mr Rosaiah had reviewed the entire situation including the funds position, how to secure, allocate and spend on priority to improve the situation.
The Chief Minister has also reviewed the situation particularly in respect of the funds and advised the departments concerned to make alternative arrangements to secure funds from the RBI and NABARD to begin reconstruction in the coastal area.
He said that the Central team had completed their survey and returned. The Centre's assistance and allocation of funds will be based on their report, the Minister said.
Chief Minister K Rosaiah has issued orders to start the works and repairs of infrastructure in the flood-hit coastal districts.
Meanwhile, the district Collectors were expected to submit their assessment report by November 20.
