The Congress High Command on Wednesday denied the reports appeared on an online news website that it was considering changing Chief Minister K Rosaiah from the post.

Condemning the report which first appeared on a website, and subsequently picked up by the various television news channels with their own versions, the AICC spokesman Janardhan Dwivedi said he had no official information on the change of guard in the state.

According to sources, the report says that Mr Rosaiah has expressed his wish to resign from the post before his party chief Sonia Gandhi and high command decided to send him as Governor of either Karnataka or Madhya Pradesh.

The names that were thrown around as Mr Rosaiah’ s replacement included Union Minister for Urban Development S Jaipal Reddy, Panchayati Raj Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, Information and Public Relations Minister J Geetha Reddy and Assembly Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Another channel even stated that any name suggested by Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy will be considered by the High Command.

The website also claimed that Mr Rosaiah has been alerted on Wednesday morning about a possible shift to a Raj Bhavan over phone.

Mr Dwivedi said the party will concentrate on the AP state affairs once Maharashtra issue is over.

The party High Command is now pre-occupied with several other issues like Commonwealth Games scam, he said adding the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is also not in the country now.
