Though Kadapa Mp YS Jaganmohan Reddy is making highly objectionable comments against the Chief Minister K Rosaiah and the party High Command, Congress president Sonia Gandhi is not initiating action against him fearing a split in the party, stated senior Telugu Desam Party leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy on Monday.
Talking to media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan, the TDP MLA stated that the Congress High Command has failed to initiate action against Kadapa Mp fearing of parting away of 40 MLAs with the MP, and the potential collapse of the Rosaiah government.
Mr Chandramohan Reddy predicted that the state will witness mid-term elections soon, if Mr Jaganmohan Reddy revolts, since as many as 40 MLAs will side with him.
He said the ‘deserters’ from various parties, including former film actress Roja and widow of TDP founder NT Rama Rao, Lakshmi Parvathi, have joined Mr Jaganmohan Reddy. Mr Chandramohan Reddy termed them as ‘iron legs’ in his party.
Whichever party these ‘iron legs’ join, the party will lost its charm and damage its prospects, he stated. The TDP MLA advised Mr Jaganmohan Reddy to encourage grassroots-level workers instead of sending invitations for ‘iron legs’ to address the finale of the Odarpu yatra in Nellore district.
Reacting on the ‘iron legs’ extending support their support to Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, Mr Chandramohan Reddy said these developments would not affect the prospects of Telugu Desam Party.
