Apologise to Geetha for attack: Bhatti to Harish Rao

Condemning the attack on the residence of Minister for Information and Public Relations J Geetha Reddy at Marredpally on State Formation Day by Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader T Harish Rao and his supporters, Chief Whip Mallu Batti Vikramarka on Wednesday demanded an apology from the MLA.

Talking to media persons at the CLP office, Mr Vikramarka said the Minister had attended the Formation Day celebrations under the constitutional responsibility and nobody can find fault in this.

Lashing out the TRS leader for his statement that the dharna was staged as part of Telangana agitation, the Chief Whip blamed Harish Rao for provoking students and people on Telangana and making them the scapegoats.

Mr Vikramarka also condemned Harish Rao’s statement that Seemandhra leaders were politicizing the issue to get mileage on it.

“If Harish Rao becomes a Minister in the event of a separate Telangana state being formed, he will also have to carry out his constitutional responsibilities like Ms Geetha Reddy did,” he stated.

Hailing the impromptu speech delivered by All India Congress Committee general secretary Rahul Gandhi at the Congress Working Committee meeting, Mr Vikramarka said that the young leader has shown his concern for the poor, yet not lost focus from the economic growth of country.
