Dharnas and counter dharnas in Ongole

Ongole, July 18:-  

     Prakasham district  headquarters  Ongole  on Saturday reverberated with dharnas and counter dharnas  staged  by none other than the ruling party Congress and the opposition party the Telugu Desam.

While demanding an apology from the Congress MLA, D Venkateswara Rao for the incidents  occurred in Karamchedu recently, the Telugu Desam  staged a dharna  in font of the Collectrate on Saturday.   Proving that they do not lag behind, the Congress workers  also staged a counter dharna demanding that the police should not  lift  the cases filed against  the TD leaders recently in Karamchedu .  This has just become a publicity stunt causing inconvenience to the public.

Sensing the delicacy of the situation, the police were kept on high alert  to ward off any unpleasant  situation.
