Signature campaign against AP Fete organized in Old city

Activists of the Telangana Joint Action Committee on Friday organized a signature campaign against celebrating the AP Formation Day.

The activists took signatures of passersby at the Dabeerpura Flyover on a pledge that they would not participate in the celebrations.

The activists also attempted to make people aware of the ‘deceit and cunning of leaders from Seemandhra.’

According to JAC Old City convenor Shahbaz Ali Khan, the state government’s partial behavior in favour of Andhraites has led the JAC to seek a boycott of the celebrations.

Mr Shahbaz Ali Khan said that the people of Telangana have been deliberately neglected ever since the state of Andhra Pradesh was carved out from the Madras Presidency.

He also charged successive state government of going against the Gentleman’s Agreement which was agreed at the time of the formation of the state.

The JAC convenor stated that only those who forget the sacrifices of people from Telangana can celebrate the Formation Day.
