Telugu Desam Party MLA Revanth Reddy on Thursday demanded that the Chief Minister K Rosaiah tender his resignation if he fails to recover Rs 10,000 crore from Emaar Properties.
Talking to media persons, Mr Revanth Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was trying to hush up the case by avoiding a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the murky land dealings between the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation and Emaar Properties.
The TDP MLA pointed out that the dubious deals caused thousands of crores loss to state exchequer. Mr Revanth Reddy also voiced his suspicion over the ‘dubious’ role of Government Advisor and Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao’s in not ordering CBI probe into the land dealings.
The MLA from Telangana also criticized the state government’s move to celebrate Andhra Pradesh Formation day celebrations officially on November 1 hurting the emotions and sentiments of Telangana people.
He said the Telangana people would observe Formation Day as `Betrayal Day’ and boycott the event in the region.
Mr Revanth Reddy also demanded that the Chief Minister make his stand clear on observing the Telangana Liberation Day (September 17) and Andhra Pradesh Formation Day (November 1).
He also criticized the Chief Minister for stating the Ministers have been given free hand to participate in the Formation Day celebrations.
“This will send wrong signal and create confusion in the minds of people of the state for following double standards in observing events,” he said.
