Condemning the statements made by Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders seeking a ban on celebrations of Andhra Pradesh Formation Day in Telangana region, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Danam Nagender on Wednesday termed them as unwarranted.

Talking to media persons, Mr Nagender stated the government would not bow down to such pressure tactics and would celebrate the Formation Day across the state as usual on November 1.

“These types of pressure tactics will not serve any purpose, that too at the time of Srikrishna Committee is due to submit its report in December,” he said.

Mr Nagender also criticized the Telangana leaders for observing it as ‘Betrayal Day’.

“The government would not force anybody to participate in the celebrations. Those interested and patriotic people will participate voluntarily” the Minister stated.

Referring to the APIIC-Emaar Properties issue, Mr Nagender said the government has not compromised on the recovering the loss from the dubious deals.

“The Chief Minister and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation are making efforts to recover its share of property from Emaar Properties. There is no need to worry on this and resorting to making baseless comments alleging involvement of Chief Minister K Rosaiah in the dubious land dealings,” he stated.
