Donald Trump has secured a landslide victory in the US elections, winning 270 electoral votes, surpassing the majority mark, and earning him a second term as President. Trump's win was announced by US media outlets, following a highly polarized election campaign that saw two assassination attempts on his life. His opponent, Kamala Harris, garnered 224 electoral colleges, falling short of the required majority.

Trump's path to victory was paved by his wins in crucial swing states, including Georgia and North Carolina, with leads in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada. This marks a significant milestone for Trump, who will become the second Republican to serve a second term in office in 20 years, following George Bush's presidency from 2001 to 2009.

Trump's confidence in his campaign was evident, stating he would concede defeat if the election was fair, while also expressing concerns about electronic voting machines. Despite these reservations, Trump felt "very confident" about reclaiming the White House, having cast his ballot in Florida.

At 78 years old, Trump has made history as the oldest person to be elected US President, overcoming significant obstacles, including two assassination attempts during his campaign. His victory has shattered the Democratic Party's hopes and those of Kamala Harris supporters, who had envisioned the first woman President in the White House.
