Terming the remarks of Telugu Desam leader N Chandrababu Naidu against Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh as highly objectionable and irresponsible, Praja Rajyam Party senior leader Kotagiri Vidyadhara Rao on Thursday demanded Naidu withdraw his remarks and sought an unconditional apology from him.
Talking to media persons at the party office, the PRP leader said that by terming the Prime Minister as a ‘sadist’, Mr Naidu has hurt the self-respect of crores of Telugu people and they will never forgive the TDP leader.
Criticising the visiting Prime Minister was not a good trend he said, and demanded the Opposition leader withdraw his comments immediately.
He asked how Mr Naidu, who did not give appointment to his Cabinet colleagues during TDP tenure, can ask Prime Minister’s appointment during his busy schedule to the state.
Lashing out at the state government for failing to redress the farmers’ problems, the PRP blamed both the state Ministers and Central Ministers, who belonged to the state, are not working in tandem to get benefits and schemes for the state.
He also blamed the Centre for adopting step-motherly treatment towards the state in providing space in warehouses for storing food grains.
If the state leaders have worked in a coordinated manner, the Centre should have sanctioned national project status to Polavaram, Pranahita and Chevella irrigation projects long ago, Mr Vidyadhara Rao pointed out.
He asked Congress senior leader and MP K Kesava Rao to coordinate with all MPs and develop the state instead of focussing on Telangana issue.
The PRP leader also accused the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues of not working to protect the interests of the state.
Criticising the Civil Supplies Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao style of functioning, he asked whether the Minister has understanding on his portfolio. If he has complete understanding on his portfolio, the shortage of space for storing food grains in the state has not aroused at all, Mr Vidyadhara Rao stated.
Reacting on joining of PRP leaders in the event of Chief Minister K Rosaiah’s Cabinet expansion, the PRP leader said there is no question of joining Cabinet as PRP has only an electoral alliance with the Congress.
He said PRP president K Chiranjeevi was exposing the corruption and scams in Congress. This clearly indicates that it would not spare any government while fighting for justice and the party was stick to its principles.
