Jagan gets Lotus Pond shock from Revanth. For years, the topic of illegal encroachment at the Lotus Pond residence of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been shrouded in controversy. Despite the lingering public debate and allegations, no concrete action had been taken by previous administrations, leaving the issue unresolved.

However, a significant turn of events unfolded on Saturday, June 15, 2024, when Telangana's Chief Minister,  Rev anth  Reddy , took a bold step. Under his directive, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) initiated a decisive move by dismantling security structures and illegal constructions that had been in place outside Jagan's residence. These unauthorized constructions, which were ostensibly designed for security purposes, had extended into public road space, disrupting the flow of traffic and inconveniencing the local community.

The  decision to  remove these encroachments came  amidst  growing  public  discontent  over  the  obstructions they  posed to  daily  life. The GH MC 's  action  marked  the  first  time  that  any  Chief  Minister  had  directly  addressed  the  enc ro achment  issue  at  Lotus  Pond ,  which  had  long  been  considered  unt ouch able , irrespective  of Jagan's political standing.

While Jagan 's supporters argue that such security measures are imperative for his safety, given his high profile and political prominence, local residents and community members have expressed relief. They view the demolition as a positive step towards reclaiming public space and restoring normalcy to the area. The move is seen as a reaffirmation of the government's commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that public property is not misused.

In essence, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's decision to tackle the encroachment at Lotus Pond signifies a departure from past inaction . It highlights a bold approach to governance that prioritizes public interest and underscores the importance of equitable use of public resources, even in high-profile cases.
