Warning that the Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee would restart its agitations if the government does not stick to its promises and withdraw all the cases foisted against the Telangana protagonists, JAC convenor M Rajender Reddy on Tuesday stated that the lawyers would meet Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy on Wednesday.

He demanded that the government lift all cases lodged against Telangana protagonists unconditionally.

Talking to media persons, Mr Rajender pointed out that the state government had promised to lift cases filed against students and lawyers during the separate statehood agitations during its talks with the lawyers at the time of the protests over the 42 per cent quota in Judiciary posts.

The government had also assured the lawyers that the issue would be decided within three weeks, claimed the JAC convenor. He pointed out that there was no action on the government’s promise so far.

The JAC convenor also demanded the Centre to hasten the process of bifurcation of the state.
