Vijayamma gives late shock to Jagan. YS Vijayamma, widow of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR), made an emotional appeal to voters in the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency, urging them to support her daughter, YS Sharmila. Sharmila, the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president, is facing a challenging contest against YSRCP candidate and incumbent MP Avinash Reddy, who is also an accused in the unsolved murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy.

In a heartfelt video message, Vijayamma directly addressed the loyal supporters of YSR, "I am your Vijayamma, and I am appealing to all the people who love YSR, his fans, and all the people of Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency to bless Sharmila and send her to Parliament."

Invoking the legacy of her late husband and the immense affection he received, Vijayamma urged voters to extend the same support to Sharmila. She emphasized that Sharmila is seeking their mandate to serve them in the same dedicated manner as her father.

The appeal comes at a crucial juncture in the election campaign, as Sharmila faces her brother, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, and his party, the YSRCP. The election in Kadapa holds significant emotional weight, as it was once represented by both YSR and his younger brother, Vivekananda Reddy, whose murder remains a sensitive issue in the campaign.

The Congress, of which Sharmila is a prominent leader, has allied with the CPI and CPI(M) as part of the INDIA bloc in Andhra Pradesh. The Lok Sabha election, scheduled for May 13th, will determine whether Kadapa voters heed Vijayamma's emotional appeal and elect Sharmila as their representative.
