IV Subba Rao shifted to Centre

I V Subba Rao, Chief Electoral Officer, who earned laurels from various quarters for conducting the elections in a free and fair manner, on Monday transferred to the Central Election Commission.

Formal orders were issued to this effect on Monday by the Centre.

Dr Subba Rao is likely to take charge as Additional Secretary at Home Department on October 4.

Two Assembly by-elections and one general election were conducted in free and fair manner during his stint as the Chief Electoral Officer.

Dr Subba Rao is presently pre-occupied with publication of a book being brought out on the success story of the 2009 general elections in Andhra Pradesh.
