Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas here on Tuesday said that the government is taking all measures to promote the National Language, Hindi, in the state.

Addressing a student’s gathering on the occasion of ‘Rashtra Bhasha Hindi Diwas Rajiv Gandhi Awards’ organised by the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee Linguistic Minority Cell, Mr Srinivas threw light on the importance of the languages spoken in the country. He advised students to respect every language of the country and try to learn as many languages as possible.

The PCC president lamented the recent domination of English over Hindi, Telugu and Urdu languages across the country, especially in urban areas and urged students to promote the National Language by using it as much as possible in their day-to-day activities.

Beside this, Linguistic Minority Cell chairman Ashok Singh said that “Hindi is our National Language and it has spread into the hearts of the people over different regions.”

“There is an underlying unity in the diversity in the country. With Hindi being the link language between the people of all the states, this unity gets strengthened’’ Mr Singh said.

Later, the girl students of the various schools were awarded for their performances on different subjects.
