Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi on Wednesday announced that his party would soon start ‘Praja Chaitanya Yatra’ across the Telangana region to highlight the various issues facing the state to mobilise public opinion.
Talking to media persons at PRP office, Mr Chiranjeevi said that his party had earlier decided to start this tour immediately after his much publicised ‘Polavaram Tour’, but was delayed due to various reasons. He had earlier taken out the ‘Praja Chaitanya Yatra’ in some districts of Coastal Andhra in August.
Interestingly, Mr Chiranjeevi had announced that his party would extend issue based support to the Congress government in the state.
The actor-turned-politician said that the decision to undertake the ‘Praja Chaitanya Yatra’ or awareness tour was taken after keenly observing the fact that the state government was solving the issues of the people only after it was pressurised to do so after agitations.
Mr Chiranjeevi rued that interaction between the people and the government has diminished to such an extent that it was affecting the welfare of the state.
He said that he would try to get as much first-hand information as possible from the people about their problems during the awareness tour.
The PRP chief also demanded that the government release a White Paper providing details of the lands allotted by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation to the Emaar Properties.
