KTR Fortress getting crumbled. With a wave of leaders from various political parties, notably from the BRS, aligning themselves with the Congress, the ruling party is experiencing a surge in strength within the Sircilla Assembly constituency—a stronghold of BRS working president K.t. Rama Rao.

Recent developments witnessed the migration of key leaders from BRS, including Thangallapalli ZPTC leaders Manjula Reddy and Ramalinga Reddy, who transitioned to the Congress. This move was followed by a significant defection of 15 BRS councillors, all united in their decision to table a no-confidence motion against municipal chairperson Jindham Kala. Notably, a substantial majority, 20 out of 39 councillors, are backing the motion, signaling a significant shift in local political dynamics.

The trend of leaders crossing party lines is not limited to Sircilla alone. Even in the Vemulawada segment, BRS is witnessing a diminishing influence. Prominent figures such as Vemulawada town president Pulkam Raju, co-option member Srilakshmi, and 14 ward councillor Bingi Mahesh have opted to align themselves with the Congress.

In a parallel development, a looming no-confidence motion against municipal chairperson R. Madhavi seems inevitable, with 21 out of the 28 councillors expressing their support for the move. During a recent meeting, a consensus was reached to endorse Konda Srilatha as an alternative to Madhavi.

Sources within the Congress reveal that this influx of public representatives from the BRS, coupled with other influential leaders, maintains a consistent flow of communication with senior leaders of the ruling party. The eagerness displayed by these leaders to join the Congress is further underscored by reports of potential no-confidence motions against MPPs in the district.

This dynamic political landscape reflects a shifting tide, with the ruling party strategically consolidating its influence by capitalizing on the changing allegiances and aspirations of key political figures in the region.
