The 'Racha Banda' (interactive meetings at village square) is introduced in the state to solve the people’s problems at village level, stated Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, before leaving to Chittoor district to inaugurate ‘Racha Banda’ programme, in which people could directly speak to him, the Chief Minister stated that the programme was mainly aimed at solving villagers problems.
He also wanted to strengthen the delivery mechanism of government scheme benefits at villages as the most efficient one. The programme is also aimed to identify lapses in the government schemes— Indiramma housing scheme and pension scheme for elderly people.
As the Opposition parties are alleging irregularities in these schemes, the Chief Minister personally wants to know the real beneficiaries and how many genuine people are benefitted under these schemes.When asked about which villages he is travelling in Chittoor district, the Chief Minister said, “if I announce the list of villages, the officials will be alerted. So I will make surprise visits and catch the guilty officials.”
