The Court’s directive came after a lawyer, Ranga Rao, on behalf of the Telangana lawyers Joint Action Committee filed a petition before it. The petition sought the Court to order cases to be registered and claimed that prime lands worth crores of rupees had been allotted by the Apiic to the Emaar Properties frivolously.

The petitioner also sought the Court to order rescinding of 16 contracts between the Apiic and Emaar properties.

The Court went through about 600 documents submitted by the lawyer and then ordered the registration of a case against the 19 persons named in the petition.
